The short version. The mortgage calculator runs entirely in your browser and we never see those numbers. Separately, if you choose to fill in the “Connect Me With an Expert” form, we share the details you enter with licensed lenders, brokers or real estate professionals, and they pay us for that referral. That form is the only part of MortDrop that collects personal information, and it is entirely optional.
Calculator inputs — not collected. Loan amounts, rates, terms and any other figures you type into the calculator are processed locally in your browser. They are not transmitted to us or stored on our servers.
Lead form — collected. If you submit the connect form, we collect your name, email address, phone number, ZIP code, your stated goal (buying, refinancing, selling and buying, or exploring), and the loan figures shown in the form summary at the time you submit.
Consent record — collected. When you submit the form we also record the date and time, your IP address, your browser user-agent string, the page you submitted from, and the exact consent language shown to you. We keep this as proof of your consent, and we may provide it to a lender or agent who asks us to evidence it.
We share the information from the lead form with one or more licensed mortgage lenders, mortgage brokers, or real estate professionals so they can contact you about your inquiry. We are compensated for these referrals. Under California and several other state privacy laws, this compensated transfer is considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.
We do not sell your information to unrelated third-party marketing list brokers, data brokers, or advertising networks.
We also use service providers who process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes — currently our application platform (Base44) and our transactional email provider (Resend).
The consent language currently shown on the lead form reads:
I agree that MortDrop may share the information I've provided with one or more licensed mortgage lenders, brokers, or real estate professionals, and that MortDrop may be compensated for that referral. I consent to receive calls and text messages from them at the number I provided — including by automated dialing system or prerecorded voice — about my mortgage or home purchase inquiry. Consent is not a condition of any purchase. Message and data rates may apply. I may opt out at any time by replying STOP.
Consent to be contacted is never a condition of using the calculator or any other part of MortDrop.
Do not sell or share my personal information. You can direct us to stop selling or sharing your information at any time by emailing info@mortdrop.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information.” We honor these requests regardless of what state you live in.
Access, correction and deletion. You may ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email the address above and we will respond within the timeframe your state law requires.
Stopping contact. Reply STOP to any text message, or use the unsubscribe link in any email, to stop hearing from us. Note that a lender or agent we already referred you to is a separate business — you will need to opt out with them directly as well.
Global Privacy Control. We honor opt-out preference signals sent by your browser where state law requires it.
We retain lead records and their associated consent records for as long as needed to operate the service and to evidence consent if a question is later raised about it, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
MortDrop is not directed to children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and revise the date at the top. Material changes to how we share or sell information will be reflected in the consent language on the form itself.
